Your own critique could turn the mob, making you the next target. Through brutal group votes, penalties escalate quickly. Missing a turn or getting eliminated might feel like a relief compared to other punishments you may have to endure: being permanently banned from the game, sent to Coventry, socially cancelled, or even doxxed by those you once trusted.
