This week's project is the first of a few projects I have in the pipeline of plants from the southern hemisphere. After a wonderful visit to Australia, I came home with a plethora of wonderful photographs of the most amazing plants. A lot of them are very detailed and very complicated to paint so we will aim to introduce them in amongst plants that are more familiar to me. I can only imagine the amazement of discovering these incredible plants and they look so perfect in their natural environment, bright sunshine and big blue skies. This tutorial is all about texture and how to achieve the fluffy nature of the buds and stems with some nice little tips along the way.Even if you have never seen this plant before, it is worth having a go, you never know you might be the Queen or King of painting fluffy plants. These textures appear in many different plants from all over the world, so I can imagine this will be helpful for all kinds of botanical studies. Sunshine, peace and just enough rain, to you, wherever you are in the world.Billy x
