It is believed to originate from secretions of gods, although some are born from eggs. Generally, their bodies are robust and imposing, possessing greater power than other naga families. They are rarely encountered and reside in the deepest layer of the river. Most commonly, they serve as warriors safeguarding their land and as guardians of treasures. Nagas within the Kanhakotama family are scarce, but those who diligently cultivate virtues can ascend to higher ranks, becoming ruling noble nagas, such as the eminent King Damsanesiri Chantranakharach, the renowned Thai naga warrior king.
