Sourced from the Hermitage of the Annunciation Monastery: This candle, with molded Karelian folk symbols, allows us to travel to the region of Karelia of Northern Russia. This regi on, North of St Petersburg and the Svir River, is a land rich in folklore and folk symbols - and a land steeped in the monastic tradition. In Karelia folk and Christian symbols merge.
