The Ultralight Articulating Night Vision Binocular Gen3 (UANVB “Katana”) is Nocturn Industries’ Molded Plastic iteration of their now-famous Katana binocular model. What began as a 3D-printed prototype has evolved into a reliable, affordable, lightweight and well finished molded binocular. Using advanced multi-axis CNC machining an ultra lightweight and robust design is achieved, including an optimal single piece pod geometry. This binocular includes features such as individual pod stow shutoff, IPD stops, user adjustable pod tension, and low battery indicator. The device is powered on-board by a single CR123A for a continuous runtime of ~25 hours, and equipped with a LEMO port for external power pack use to achieve extensive run time. These lenses do not meet the same MIL-PRF-A3256342A standard as Noctis/Fuji lenses but deliver similar performance across the board. They may produce a slightly less contrast-heavy image but offer an excellent performance-to-price ratio, providing a clear and sharp image that lets the image intensifier’s resolution speak for itself. Noctis Technologies: The Noctis Tech/Fuji PVS-14 optics are the gold standard for balanced night vision optics in the modern market. Compatible with practically any current or upcoming goggle or monocular, these lenses deliver outstanding light transmission, exceed MIL-PRF-A3256342A standards, and provide a razor-sharp image while minimizing light flare and distortion. These are the lenses with the deep blue hue we all know and recognize. RPO NVD NextGen+3.0: The Rochester Precision Optics (RPO) NVD NextGen Eyepiece, paired with the RPO 3.0 Lightweight Objective, is the latest and greatest option for anyone looking to step into a premium lightweight optic setup. The NextGen Eyepiece features a wider output lens, providing longer eye relief and a larger eyebox—giving the user more freedom to maintain a clear image while moving or using a panning bridge. This combination delivers an average 30% weight savings in the lens system itself. Image Intensifier The image intensifier tubes used in all our systems feature autogating and come in green or white phospore with different specifications and price ranges, allowing anyone to customize their device to their needs.
