Original, mixed media on board. 40" x 60". We all know what happened to the poorer communities during the catastrophe that was hurricane Katrina. This piece, "Waves of Shame", is m y response to hearing about those were were saved (and not), those who received aid (and those who didn't) , those shot on the bridge trying to escape, and the aftermath, years later, of communities that are still wastelands until developers come scoop up land for pennies on the dollar to convert into luxury resorts.
