The Starliner Express returns to the roots of the Kauer line with a simple, offset slab-body. Its body and neck are both Spanish Mahogany, which is not only lightweight but also highly resonant. The unique single-cutaway body shape maximizes the dynamic range while also providing effortless access into the upper register. This brand new Starliner Express (serial #1026-171) features a stunning "Firemist Black" top finish with "Vintage Brown" back and sides. It's a flashy look that is beautiful accented by Chrome hardware and a Silver pickguard. Every detail is high-end, and the Wenge fingerboard and Jescar frets are PLEK-ed to optimize the setup. For pickups, it is outfitted with a Lollar Mini Humbucker in the neck position and Lollar P90 in the bridge. We couldn't resist ordering the P90 with a chrome cover to match the Humbucker. This Kauer Starliner Express is a rock-n-roll machine. It is lightweight and comfortable, and it packs deep dynamic response with singing sustain. The pickup complement is somewhat unconventional, but usable in a wide variety of applications. You get single-coil bite and jangle from the bridge, and then in the neck position, the humbucker is smooth, warm, and powerful.
