The brewery sources its water from proprietary mountain wells—a detail GBG credits as the defining factor behind the beer's clean, distinctive character. Brewed from barley malt, hops, and that mountain spring water, the lager undergoes standard filtration to produce a bright, clear pour that reflects the Euro pale lager tradition with a distinctly Georgian identity.Tasting NotesAroma: The nose opens with moderate malty grain and a light grassy character. A gentle honey sweetness follows, lending a soft, inviting quality without heaviness.Taste: The entry is clean and malt-forward, with lightly caramelized grain flavors arriving first. Mid-palate, subtle honey sweetness emerges alongside a floral, grassy dimension. A faint lemon-like brightness and mild yeast character provide balance, keeping the beer from tipping too sweet.Finish: The finish is moderate in length with a pleasant sweet-bitter interplay from the hops. It closes clean and dry enough to encourage another sip, with lingering malt sweetness fading gradually. How to Drink Kazbegi LagerServe well chilled, ideally between 3–5°C (37–41°F), poured into a pilsner glass or tall tumbler to appreciate its golden clarity and thin white head. Its malty, approachable profile also makes it a reliable base for beer cocktails: a Shandy, mixing it with fresh lemonade to amplify the existing citrus notes; a Michelada, where the honey-malt sweetness balances lime, hot sauce, and Worcestershire; or a Radler, paired with grapefruit soda for a lighter warm-weather drink.Best For Pairing with traditional Georgian cuisine like khinkali or khachapuri Introducing friends to Georgian beer culture Casual outdoor gatherings and warm-weather sessions Building an international lager tasting lineup Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat does Kazbegi Lager taste like?
