Description KBL Split Cable Gland – Divisible Retrofit Cable Gland The KBL Split Cable Gland is a divisible cable gland designed to be installed retrospectively around pre-terminated cables. It installs in a similar way to a standard nylon cable gland, with the added advantage that it can be opened and fitted around cables that already have plugs, connectors or moulded ends. Each KBL Split Cable Gland is supplied complete with a split locknut and a rubber self-adhesive sealing gasket. This allows the gland to be securely fixed and sealed to an enclosure in the same way as a conventional cable gland. The split construction makes it ideal for retrofit, maintenance and upgrade applications where cutting, disconnecting or re-terminating the existing cables would be impractical or prohibited. When correctly assembled using the supplied sealing gasket and suitable cable grommets, the KBL Split Cable Gland provides ingress protection up to IP54. Important: The cable gland body is supplied without rubber cable grommets. Grommets must be selected according to the outside diameter of each cable and purchased separately.
