Hours of hand-carving and sanding went into sculpting this unique keepsake box. The main wood is sweet gum, which I harvested and milled myself. Also known as satin walnut, sweet g um has a unique interlocked grain pattern and very interesting figure. Black walnut is the accent wood, featured in the lift-off lid and the hand-turned lid pull.
