The embroidery features reclaimed maroon and blue Chinese Miao brocade textiles handwoven on traditional looms in Langde Village, Leishan County, Guizhou. Artisans use bilateral symmetry to emphasize the push and pull of order and balance. Miao brocade patterns included: Spirals – representing origins, cyclical time, and rebirth The skirt includes a concealed side zipper enclosure and a silk lining for comfort and structure.
