Meet the incredible Kelly Bit (@kellyjbit), founder and designer of Sublima (@sublimajewelry), her beautiful and thoughtful jewelry line. As a child, Kelly loved drawing and crafting, but while working as a journalist, she found herself missing the visual arts. That longing led her to make an intentional shift—channeling her creativity into jewelry design as a meaningful and sustainable artistic path. Kelly took a continuing education course at the School of Visual Arts (SVA), where she learned technical skills like metalsmithing and wax carving. Equipped with new tools and confidence, she launched her own brand. Her stunning designs celebrate everyday moments of joy—many rooted in food and shared meals with loved ones. This is why so many of her pieces are inspired by Asian cuisine and culture. Kelly’s creativity is matched only by her generosity. Since 2020, Sublima has donated $65,000 to local nonprofits supporting NYC’s Chinatown communities, after-school programs, affordable housing initiatives, and food security efforts. She regularly partners with organizations that uplift Asian American voices and experiences. Kelly envisions Sublima as the premiere jewelry brand for Asians and Asian Americans—an embodiment of high art, cultural pride, and community impact.
