Antique Ketcham & McDougall black retractable chatelaine brooch. This utilitarian button winder has many uses. You can attach any item to the hook clasp and it will be close at han d. The chain is approximately 17" long and retracts nicely. The front of brooch is plain black. It can be used for glasses, pens, tools, scissors, keys and more. My son uses something similar for his fly fishing tools. The brooch measures 1" in diameter, and weighs 9.5 grams. The back is signed Ketcham McDougall New York, Patent Feb. 24 1903 and April 26 1910. The brooch has a "C" clasp closure. In very good condition.
