Keter is the top of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. It is often not considered a Sephiroth at all, and is sometimes not discussed. Its literal meaning is "crown" as it sits above one 's head as Keter sits above the rest of the Tree of Life. Keter is sometimes described as nothingness, or a state before being.
