High quality reproduction steel Kettle Hat helmet, modelled on the widely used medieval armour. The Kettle Hat Helmet is a design which dates back to, and was very popular in, the medieval period - particularly with infantryman in the 100 Years War. This style of helmet took its English name from a metal cooking pot, which it resembled, known as a Kettle; originating from the Germanic word ‘cetel’. This helmet was so successful at protecting its wearer from projectiles that the design was reintroduced in both World War 1 and 2. This replica kettle helmet is constructed with 18 gauge steel and is a true likeness to helmets of this type from the medieval period. It features studded detail just above the large rim, a leather adjustable liner and chin strap. Although it is not recommended that this helmet be used for re-enactment, it is ideal for LARP, fancy dress or even as a stunning display piece for the home when combined with one of our wooden helmet stands.
