The Makeup Light (TML) has been designed by US Photographer Michael Astalos after discovering the issues that Makeup Artists were faced with trying to find adequate light sources both on set and on location. Michaels wife is US Emmy award winning Makeup Artist Vivian Baker and he created TML specifically to meet her needs. Unlike other makeup lights, TML offers a full light spectrum whereas some other LED lights do not show the full colour range and only go as far as magenta so red is not seen which can be very problematic. Taking inspiration from the original "key light" on sets that are placed directly above the camera and provide the most flattering lighting and were traditionally always used on leading ladies.
