Ideal for homes, holiday lets, care applications, rental properties and commercial premises, it provides secure storage for approximately 2–3 cylinder keys or most single car keys. LPS 1175 Issue 8 A5 Certified Unlike many conventional key boxes, the Keyguard Digital XL has undergone independent physical attack testing. It is certified by LPCB to LPS 1175 Issue 8 A5, an established security standard designed to assess a product's resistance to attack using a defined range of tools. This makes the Keyguard Digital XL an excellent choice where a higher level of independently tested security is required. Police Preferred Specification The Keyguard Digital XL is also approved under the Secured by Design initiative and meets Police Preferred Specification. This makes it particularly suitable for applications where secure external key storage is important, including: Residential properties Carer and healthcare access Holiday lets and Airbnb properties Landlords and letting agents Cleaners and maintenance contractors Commercial premises Emergency or authorised access Simple Push-Button Access Access is controlled using a robust 12-button mechanical push-button lock, so there are no batteries, electronics or external power supplies to maintain. Users can select a 4–8 digit code, providing more than 4,000 possible combinations. The code can also be changed when required, making it useful for properties where authorised users or access requirements change over time. Bright green numbers and indicators help make the keypad easier to operate. Space for Multiple Keys The internal compartment provides space for approximately 2–3 standard cylinder keys or most single car keys, depending on their size. An internal key hook helps keep the stored keys securely positioned within the compartment. The Keyguard Digital XL can also accommodate suitable key cards where dimensions permit. Weather-Resistant Cover A permanent weather-resistant rubber cover protects the front of the key safe from exposure to the elements. The cover also doubles as a convenient drilling template during installation, helping ensure accurate positioning of the fixing holes. Heavy-Duty Construction The Keyguard Digital XL features a substantial 18mm thick door, secured by a locking bolt along the upper edge. Despite its compact dimensions, the unit weighs approximately 3kg, reflecting its significantly more substantial construction compared with many lightweight key boxes. Secure Wall Installation Correct installation is essential to maintaining the security performance of any key safe. The Keyguard Digital XL has four fixing points, one in each corner, and is supplied with fixing bolts suitable for brickwork. Burton also certifies the Keyguard Digital XL for installation to rendered walls, with alternative fixing solutions available for other suitable structural surfaces. SafeFort Recommendation The Burton Keyguard Digital XL is our choice for customers who want the convenience of an externally mounted key safe without relying on a lightweight, uncertified key box. Its major advantage is its independently tested LPS 1175 Issue 8 A5 certification, combined with Secured by Design / Police Preferred Specification. This makes it particularly attractive for carer access, holiday lets, rental properties and homes where family members or trusted contractors require controlled access. We also like the completely mechanical locking system. There are no batteries to replace, apps to configure or internet connections to maintain – authorised users simply enter the correct code. For customers whose priority is a straightforward but independently tested and Police Preferred solution for securely storing property keys outside the home, the Burton Keyguard Digital XL is one of the strongest options in the SafeFort key-safe range.
