They all love their sport so when Mundial approached King Gizz about the collab, they recommended me - which I’m very appreciative of. Jason Galea who has been behind the bulk of the band's artwork since day one has been someone I’ve admired and looked up to as a creative for a long time. Part of the brief was having access to utilize any of Jason's artwork, which was a bit nerve wracking to be honest! I wanted to do his work and the band's work justice whilst also putting my own spin on the collab and creating something that resonates with Gizzheads across the globe. From the outset I knew I wanted to incorporate a reptilian scale pattern because that’s just King Gizz all over. I also wanted to include traditional elements such as stripes and arm tape, weaving the scales in and around those. I also wanted to pay homage to the Gothic aesthetic often synonymous with the Gizzverse. It was great to work with Jason at different stages throughout the process who helped me narrow down the typeface, back graphic and badge design which adds a nice Metal element to it as well." - Jasper Pittard, R.SPORT
