History: 1999 - 2000, CEO: Judy MacDonal, Founded By: Jim Clark With a popular following and more than $20M in venture capital, this online community for teen girls threw a lavish launch party in 2000. Less than two months later, the company was completely bankrupt. Kibu was extremely popular amongst young women but, after several Silicon Valley high rollers impulsively withdrew their investments, the company caved.
