USDA Certified Organic Kidd's Orange Red apples are arguably my favorite apple from the orchard most seasons. Developed by J.H. Kidd of New Zealand in 1924, who also developed the Gala. Kidd's Orange Red apples have a pink, crimson flush, some stripes over pale yellow skin with russet dots. The Kidds Orange Red apples are medium size, conic, slightly ribbed, hybrid of Cox Orange Pippin. The flesh is compact and fine grained. Rich balance of sugar, acidity and aromatics, with a hint of violets. Displays some resistance to fireblight and scab making it a good choice for the south.
