My name is Makhaila St Denis, I’ve been baking for over eight years, and for the past five years I’ve focused on decorating cakes and cookies—so you’re in the right place to learn some fun new skills! I studied baking and pastry arts at Fanshawe College, where I got to practice being creative in the kitchen every day. But my love for baking actually started when I was a kid, just like many of you. In these classes, we’re going to have fun decorating cookies, trying new ideas, and getting creative with colours and designs. I can’t wait to see what each of you makes! ***** Cookie Decorating Class Overview ***** Welcome (5 min) — Makhaila & Mark will greet the kids and parents, introduce ourselves, and set the stage for the class Mill Tour (15 min) — Mark will take the group on a brief tour of the Mill, showing kids how wheat becomes flour and making the connection to cookies! Cookie Decorating Demo (15 min) — Makhaila will walk the group through a quick colour-palette overview, basic piping and icing techniques, using a few decorated samples for inspiration Hands-On Decorating (75 min) — Each child decorates 4–6 pre-baked cookies with coloured icing bags, sprinkles, and other toppings, with Makhaila's guidance throughout Wrap-Up & Take-Home Packaging (10 min) — Kids box up their creations in a take-home box, and each child also receives a 2.5 kg bag of Daisy Unbleached Flour to take home
