Perfectly sized for a king bed, this lightweight dohar brings effortless comfort to every season. Use it as a breathable coverlet, in place of a traditional top sheet, or layered at the foot of the bed for added warmth and texture. Made from three layers of airy mulmul cotton muslin—once reserved for Indian royalty—dohars are traditional Indian summer blankets that become softer with every wash. The word dohar comes from the Hindi doharana, meaning "to repeat," a fitting nod to both its layered construction and the rhythmic artistry behind its creation. Each dohar is printed entirely by hand using centuries-old block printing techniques. Artisans carve intricate patterns into wooden blocks, dip them into natural, azo-free dyes, and press them onto the fabric in a slow, deliberate process repeated anywhere from 500 to 3,000 times for a single blanket. Produced in small batches, no two are exactly alike.
