This Japanese whetstone (sharpening stone) from the world-renowned KING Deluxe range features a medium #800 grit finish, ideal for normal maintenance of sickles and other garden tools, as well as chisels and kitchen knives. This type of absorbent whetstone needs to be soaked in a water for 5 minutes before use. Then sprinkle with water to achieve a smooth surface during sharpening. Rinse and wipe dry the stone with a hand towel when done, and allow to air dry at room temperature. Do not leave in water. After sharpening, rinse and thoroughly dry your tool blade. Apply a light coat of camellia oil to help protect against rust and corrosion.
