The Helm bars strike a balance between strength and weight by using internal butting throughout the main tubing and the crossbar. That puts thickness and strength where it is neede d, in the bends, the weld points and the ends of the bars, while keeping the tubing thinner through the straight sections.They are made from 4130 chromoly steel tubing and given Kink's TruTherm post weld heat treatment for strength after welding.
