Why We Selected the KF3 25% More Compact — Same Performance The KF3 is part of KitchenAid's new compact series, designed to be 25% smaller than the KF6, KF7, and KF8 models — without sacrificing grind quality, milk performance, or recipe variety. It fits comfortably on any countertop, making it the ideal choice for kitchens where space matters. IntelliGrind Technology — Smart Grinding, Every Time The integrated steel conical burr grinder with IntelliGrind automatically detects and adjusts grind size and dose based on your beans and roast type — no manual dialing required. Switch roasts anytime; the KF3 adapts. Prefer pre-ground? A convenient bypass chute has you covered. Hot & Iced Coffee — Optimized for Both The KF3 features dedicated over-ice espresso and coffee settings that brew at a lower temperature, protecting flavour and preventing over-extraction as your drink cools. The result: smooth, balanced iced drinks — not just a hot espresso poured over ice. AutoMilk System — Hands-Free Frothing The KF3's AutoMilk system automatically adjusts milk texture and volume for each recipe, delivering perfectly frothed or steamed milk through the main spout. The milk hose connects directly to a container of your choice — use any vessel from your fridge, or pick up the optional dedicated milk container sold separately. 4 Personal Profiles — Everyone Gets Their Cup Save up to 4 individual drink profiles — strength, size, temperature, milk volume, body type — so every member of the household can return to their personalized drink instantly. No resetting, no compromising. 2.4" Colour Touchscreen — Simple & Intuitive The 2.4" colour display makes browsing recipes and adjusting settings straightforward from the very first use. Button navigation on the KF3 makes it easy to cycle through drinks, manage profiles, and access the cleaning menu — no complicated interfaces. Automatic Maintenance — Built to Last The KF3 prompts you automatically when cleaning, descaling, or a filter replacement is needed and guides you through the process step by step. The included water filter reduces limescale and chlorine taste — replace approximately every 2–3 months. Descaling is prompted every 3–6 months depending on water hardness. Both machines share the same compact platform (25% smaller than the older KF6/KF7/KF8), IntelliGrind burr grinder, AutoMilk system, bypass chute, and hot & iced coffee settings. The KF4 upgrades include: 20+ recipes (vs. 15+), a larger 3.5" touchscreen (vs. 2.4"), a 790 ml milk container included in the box, named personal user profiles, and QuietGrind noise-reduction technology. The KF3 is the more accessible entry point; the KF4 adds convenience and refinement. Does the KF3 come with a milk container? No. The KF3 uses the AutoMilk system via a hose that you place directly into any container of your choice — a regular milk carton from your fridge works perfectly. A dedicated KitchenAid milk container is available for purchase separately if you prefer a more integrated setup. Can I use pre-ground coffee with the KF3? Yes. The KF3 has a bypass chute that lets you add pre-ground coffee at any time, in addition to using whole beans with the built-in grinder. How does the iced coffee setting work on the KF3? The KF3 includes a dedicated over-ice brewing setting that extracts at a lower temperature — this protects flavour and prevents over-extraction as the coffee cools down over ice. The result is a smooth, balanced iced drink rather than a bitter one. Can I save my preferred drink settings on the KF3? Yes. The KF3 supports up to 4 personal profiles, each storing a unique combination of drink type, strength, volume, temperature, and milk settings. Note that unlike the KF4, the KF3 does not allow you to assign a custom name to each profile. How often does the KF3 need to be cleaned? The machine prompts you automatically. Descaling is recommended approximately every 3–6 months depending on your water hardness, and the water filter should be replaced every 2–3 months. After every milk-based drink, the machine will ask you to run a quick milk rinse — it takes under a minute. What warranty does the KF3 come with? The KF3 comes with a 2-year limited warranty and KitchenAid's 10-Year Parts and Service Commitment, ensuring long-term support and access to replacement parts.
