Since 1937, the company has developed art tools that encourage creativity while remaining safe and sustainable. First known for low‑dust chalk made from scallop shells recycled from food‑industry waste, Kitpas continues to repurpose by‑products into beautiful art materials for children and adults alike. In 2021, rice bran wax became the main ingredient in Kitpas crayons. Derived from the naturally discarded outer layer of rice grown in Japan, this wax reduces waste and energy use while delivering non-toxic, gentle crayons that are safe for little hands and the environment. Kitpas is also celebrated for its inclusive workplace culture. Believing that everyone benefits from meaningful work, the company provides a supportive environment where many employees have intellectual disabilities, adapting production processes and facilities to their needs. These principles ensure Kitpas products inspire creativity while supporting sustainability and social responsibility.
