Kitsune are believed to be messengers of Inari, the Shinto god associated with agriculture and protector of rice. Also visitors at popular tourist spots like Kyoto and Kawagoe can purchase masks and wear them just for fun. The mask in this listing was purchased as a souvenir and never worn.
