Months were spent collaborating closely with four different talented young artists to get every detail just right. Each sketch, each adjustment, was aimed at capturing a playful, happy spirit that would connect with cat lovers everywhere. While this pendant was not made in collaboration with any celebrity, it was inspired by the joy and confidence often associated with the one well known public persona, especially her well-known fondness for cats. In fact, I like to imagine a similar sparkle in this kitten’s smile to the one fans often see from her on stage and in photographs. While she had no role in creating this piece, her affection for her furry companions reminds us of how a single smile or a single person can light up a room.
