The Klanghabitat Cassiopeia:cube is a stereo vacuum tube saturation module built for the API 500 series format. It offers a distinctive approach to signal coloration by driving vacuum tubes beyond their standard operating limits, producing rich, musical saturation. Pushing Tubes Beyond Limits At the heart of Cassiopeia lies its ability to run vacuum tubes in a saturated state, deliberately exceeding their conventional specifications. This results in lush harmonic overtones and a soft-clipping effect that adds warmth and analog character. The SATURATION knob controls the input level feeding the tubes—turn it up to push the tubes harder and enhance the saturation effect. Fine-Tuned Blending with INTENSITY The INTENSITY control lets users blend the saturated signal with the original dry input, offering nuanced control over the saturation's presence in the mix. This is especially useful at higher saturation settings, where subtlety is key. Dialing in the right balance ensures the saturation enriches the sound without overwhelming it. Optimized Output Control To round out the signal path, the OUTPUT control sets the final output level, allowing seamless integration with downstream gear. This ensures proper gain staging and prevents unwanted distortion or clipping, keeping your signal clean and consistent.
