The Static V Summit™ is designed to keep you warm and comfortable, even in winter conditions. Its body-mapped shape and signature V-chamber design minimize air movement to maximize insulation and comfort. Each chamber is filled with lightweight, durable Klymalite™ synthetic insulation, adding crucial protection from the cold ground. Dynamic side rails keep you centered on your pad, so you sleep soundly through the night. Designed for backcountry travel, it’s ultralight, packs down small, and inflates quickly when you reach camp. As part of the Summit Series, the Static V Summit™ is crafted for dedicated adventurers who want elevated warmth, refined comfort, and reliable performance for demanding backcountry trips. FEATURES Body-Mapped V Design: The signature V-chamber layout follows your natural body shape to provide consistent support in any sleep position—side, stomach, or back—while limiting air movement to help maintain warmth Centering Side Rails: Built directly into the pad’s structure, the raised side rails keep you securely positioned through the night and help reduce heat loss caused by shifting or rolling Loft-Enhancing Welds: Deep weld channels create expansion zones that let your sleeping bag loft fully underneath you, boosting insulation and improving cold-weather comfort compared to flat sleeping pads Flip Valve: Designed for efficiency, the low-profile Flip Valve inflates the pad in just a handful of breaths and opens wide for fast, complete deflation when breaking camp Field Repair Kit: A compact patch kit comes stored inside the pad’s stuff sack pocket, giving you quick access to emergency repairs wherever your backcountry trip takes you Summit Series Performance: Designed for dedicated adventurers seeking elevated warmth, refined comfort, and dependable performance for demanding backcountry trips Specifications: Inflated Dimensions: 72 x 23 x 2.5 in /183 x 58 x 6.4 cm Pad Weight: 24 oz/ 680 g Fabric: 75D Polyester ASTM R-Value: 2.4 Insulation: No Pack Size: 8 x 5 in/20 x 13 cm Storage: Stuff Sack Additional Features Body Mapping Technology Side Rails Deep Weld Patterning Flip Valve Patch Kit FAQ's What is an R-Value, and why does it matter for sleeping pads? The R-Value measures a sleeping pad's insulation ability, specifically how well it resists heat loss to the ground. A higher R-Value means better warmth and comfort, making it essential for cold-weather camping. What does the ASTM standard mean for sleeping pad R-Values?ASTM F3340-18 is the industry-standard test used to measure a pad’s R-Value. It ensures consistent, reliable results across brands, helping you compare pads and choose the right one for your needs. While not all Klymit sleeping pads have been tested to this standard yet, we are actively working through the process to provide ASTM-rated R-Values across our lineup. How does the ASTM standard apply to Klymit pads? While ASTM testing provides a standardized way to compare sleeping pad insulation, it does not always account for the unique design of Klymit pads. Many Klymit sleeping pads feature deep V-chamber welds, which are specifically engineered to trap and insulate air pockets beneath your sleeping bag. This design enhances warmth by reducing convective heat loss and working in tandem with your sleep system, often outperforming its ASTM-rated R-Value in real-world conditions. As a result, traditional R-Value testing may not fully reflect the insulation benefits experienced when using Klymit pads in the field. Understanding Klymit Historical R-ValuesKlymit has always prioritized real-world performance when designing sleeping pads, ensuring that all our pads provide four-season usability. Historically, we have used our own rigorous in-house testing methods to determine R-Values, reflecting how our unique V-chamber and Body Mapping™ designs work in tandem with a sleeping bag to maximize warmth. With the adoption of the ASTM F3340-18 standard, we now display two R-Values on certain pads—our original Klymit R-Value and the ASTM-rated R-Value—where applicable. This helps provide additional transparency while recognizing that ASTM testing does not always fully capture the insulation benefits of our pad designs. Some pads may only display a single ASTM R-Value as we work through the testing process, but rest assured, every Klymit pad is engineered for year-round performance in all conditions. By considering both values, you can make an informed decision about the best pad for your adventures, knowing that Klymit sleeping pads are built to keep you comfortable in any season. What R-Value do I need for different camping conditions?R-Value 1–2: Ideal for summer camping.R-Value 2–4: Great for spring and fall temperatures.R-Value 4.5+: Necessary for winter camping and cold weather.
