Remove gel pack from freezer and place it in knee brace before applying. Apply the knee brace to the affected area. Never apply cold therapy longer than 15-20 minutes at a time. How to Heat Gel Packs in a Microwave Note:Gel pack must be at room temperature before heating in microwave Place gel pack on a paper towel in the microwave. Heat at full power for 45-60 seconds. Reheat at 10-second intervals until desired temperature is reached. Place in knee brace and apply to the affected area. Do not apply hot therapy longer than 15-20 minutes at a time. How to Heat Gel Packs on a Stove Top Bring 3 quarts (3.5 liters) of water to a boil. Remove water from heat source. Note: Never immerse gel pack while water is being heated. Immerse gel pack in hot water for 2.5 - 3 minutes. Place in knee brace and apply to the affected area. Do not apply hot therapy longer than 15-20 minutes at a time.
