All my fabric starts out with hand dyed yarn that's knit into a swatch of fabric, I photograph the swatch and upload the image to spoonflower.com. Spoonflower has an amazing select ion of different fabrics that you can have your design printed on. The dyes that use are a super pigmented and wash beautifully. I use a durable denim for all my totes.
