The bucket hat is worked bottom up, starting at the brim and working up for the top. The linen stitch pattern is worked in the round for the entire piece with decreases made to shape the hat. Sizes The hat measures (lying flat):Brim to top: 19 cm / 7.5 inchesAcross brim: 33 cm / 13 inches Techniques This pattern uses the following techniques: circular knitting, linen stitch in the round, linen stitch flat (for the pocket), double decreases and chain stitch. Gauge 14 sts and 28 rounds = 4” worked in linen stitch on 6 mm [US 10] needles, blocked. For reference, my head measurement is 55 cm / 21.5 inches and the hat fit me perfectly. Materials Suggested Needles 6 mm [US 8] DPNS or 16 inches / 40 cm circular needles, or size to obtain gauge. 5 mm[US 6] crochet hook for the ‘strap’. Suggested Yarn Aran Weight Yarn held double.
