Our Ko-Bunka is forged from 66 layers of VG-10 Damascus steel with a solid VG-10 core, a harder, higher-carbon alloy that holds its edge longer and earns a Rockwell score of 58+ HRC. The Damascus layers are folded and compressed by hand in Seki, Japan, resulting in a rippled surface pattern that is entirely unique to each of the 2,000 individually numbered knives. The Moabi Wood handle brings our ergonomic French handle shape to a compact format, finished with a mosaic pin rivet exclusive to this Limited-Edition. Each knife ships with a handcrafted Magnolia Wood Saya, individually fitted to this blade shape. At 5⅛", the Ko-Bunka's high blade profile creates the knuckle clearance needed for serious board work, while the drop-point tip tapers to a fine point for detail cuts: silverskin, joints, scoring fish. It's the knife that lives between a paring knife and a petty, small enough for precision and tall enough for real prep volume.
