Scientific Name: Xiphophorus helleri Koi Swordtail (Xiphophorus hellerii) is a colorful freshwater livebearer known for its striking orange, white, and black koi-like pattern. Male s develop the distinctive sword-shaped extension on the lower part of the tail, giving the species its name. These hardy and active fish are great for community aquariums and are easy to care for. Koi Swordtails enjoy planted tanks with plenty of swimming space and will readily accept a variety of foods.
