One of my all-time favourite documentaries, The Last Alaskans, truly brought this to life for me. The series follows the lives of a few families living in the remote Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. It beautifully showcases their resilience, connection to nature and the challenges of surviving in one of the last untouched wildernesses on Earth. Its stunning music paired perfectly with the breathtaking Arctic landscapes, weaving together endless, expansive soundscapes that matched the grandeur of the untouched wilderness. Inspired by the music and visuals of The Last Alaskans and its epic Arctic scenes, I’m thrilled to introduce Glacium – Arctic Soundscapes. While creating Glacium, I surrounded myself with Arctic imagery and played scenes from The Last Alaskans and other polar documentaries. This gave me the opportunity to feel the sounds come alive alongside the visuals, making each soundscape rich, evocative, and full of character.
