This hook was based on the popular, original fly hook patterns, which found favour with carp anglers due to their shape and hooking ability – but this is a much stronger and sharpe r version of that pattern. This pattern is one of the original styles of hook in carp fishing, but is still just as effective today with modern rigs, thanks to a 20 degree in-turned eye, long shank and straight point, which ensures that it flips over and takes a hold very easily, ensuring consistently good hookholds. The Longshank X is also very strong and can stand up to being used on snaggy and weedy waters, thanks to the forging on the bend and the gauge of wire used.
