Pale with an attractive garnet colour, this wine has notes of plum and damson, attractive warm spice and hints of herbal characters. On the medium-bodied palate there is good fresh acidity, smooth tannins and berry fruit notes. Gamza is the Bulgarian name for Kadarka, a thin-skinned grape that, when carefully handled, can produce pale-coloured chillable, crunchy red wines such as this. The Gamza and Cabernet Franc grapes are sourced from a single vineyard in North West Bulgaria on the shore of the Danube River, at just 35-50 metres, where the climate is temperate continental. Fermentation and maceration take place is stainless steel at controlled temperatures. Show more
