To remove from packaging, hold the tampon at both ends and twist in the direction of the arrows—much like opening a lipstick cap. Gently pull on the removal string from the bottom to ensure it is secure. Insert your index finger into the indentation at the bottom of the tampon. Assume a comfortable position and gently spread your legs apart with your free hand to locate the vaginal opening. Relax, then push the tampon gently as high as possible and toward the back of the vagina. If you meet resistance, adjust the angle of insertion. If you cannot feel the tampon, it is correctly positioned in the middle of the vagina, with the removal string remaining outside. Change tampons every 3 to 4 hours.
