This beautiful authentic Kuba figural comb is hand carved by the Kuba artisans from Congo. The Kuba figural comb is hand carved from wood and decorated with a beautifully carved fi gure on top.In many cultures from the Congo elaborate hairstyles were seen as a 'mark of civilization' and an extension of African aesthetics. Complex hairstyles take hours to make and require a structure to support this elegant coiffure. Combs such as this were used for ornament ceremonial coiffures and to untangle the hair.
