I feel an immediate, involuntary frisson of excitement and a desire to remember every moment. Not often you get to spend moments so close to predators. It is like finding yourself in a lift with someone who is both famous and attractive. You know it’s over soon so you make the absolute most of it. I get 3 shots through the viewfinder of my camera and quickly look up as he walks out of my frame, following his path and trying to take it all in. But although I always force myself to breathe the current moment, most of the time it’s only after coming home that I learn to truly appreciate the uniqueness of certain encounters.
