All KUM sharpeners are equipped with blades manufactured with ultra-hard (65 hrc) and razor-sharp high carbon steel- harder than ball bearings, making them ideal for sharpening hig h-quality graphite.KUM blades are slightly curved rather than dead straight- this means the edges are under constant tension and not lifted by pressure during sharpening. This provides a consistent sharpen to the pencil and prevents the pencil tip from springing out or tearing, and prevents the screws from loosening. The AS2M is ideal for extra-long pencil tips and 2mm clutch pencil inserts. The single 8mm standard hole shapes the wood and the lead in turn, and the automatic brake prevents over-sharpening.
