Kvit takes its name from the Ukrainian word kvitka, meaning “flower” — an inspiration that couldn’t be more fitting. Designed in the depths of grey winter, the pullover reflects my longing for spring and colour. The colourwork pattern combines stranded and inlay colourwork and crossed stitches. And the contrast between delicate yoke and more chunky body adds extra depth to the design. The pullover is knit top-down in the round. The pattern uses one main colour and small amounts of six contrasting colours, making it ideal for using up leftovers. It features a hemmed neckline, short-row shaping at the neck, a boxy body, and classic tapered sleeves. The yoke is worked with a single strand of fingering-weight yarn, and the body and sleeves with two strands held together.
