Jomon era clay figures are embroidered on a soft gauze handkerchief. Jomon "Venus" is a national treasure excavated from the Tanahata site in Chino City, Nagano Prefecture. It repr esents a pregnant woman and has a beautiful curve. It looks shiny because mica pieces are kneaded into the clay. Height 27 cm, weight 2.14 kg. Collection of Chino City.
