Mikawa Island present day Minowa area was a wetland because of the Arakawa river floods. It was also a place of prodigal of the shoguns, and the floods attracted many cranes. The s hogun then designated the whole area as a feeding reservation and many shogun successors and generals visited the area admiring the cranes.
