Yakushi Nyorai is revered as the Buddha of healing and is depicted holding a medicine jar (yakushi). This medicine jar contains medicine that stops illness and alleviates both phys ical and mental suffering, providing peace to people. In this patch Yakushi Nyorai is represented in an unusual manner, depicted as soaking in its own medicinal jar. Collaborating Artist Yozan Miura A Buddhist sculptor born in 1973 in Saitama Prefecture. After working in a company for three years post-graduation, he was inspired by the book 'Kibutsuki' by Jun Miura and Seikō Ito to become a sculptor. He apprenticed under a master in Shiga Prefecture for 13 years before establishing the Tonomikado Buddhist Workshop in Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto City. There, he carves new wooden statues, restores old ones, and conducts sculpture workshops.
