Conrail's roster included four separate orders with multiple detail variations along with five units originally built for Reading. One of those ex-RDG units, No. 3001, is included here along with two representatives from Conrail's 1979 class. Despite their age, NS has made great use of its GP40-2s. Our models show their modernized look from the early 2000s on with class lights removed and ditch lights (front and rear) added. Differences between the 3001 and its younger siblings are too numerous to count - but that small 2600-gallon fuel tank and trademark Reading rain gutter on the cab roof are instant spotting features!
