Behind the Art This painting, and the time in my life that it represents, is so special that I am nearly lost for words. In 2021 I embarked on an adventure to teach English in a ti ny, charming town in the southeast of France called Aire-sur-l’Adour. The tranquil, picturesque view depicted in “La Campagne” was my daily walk. I remember this particular day so vividly - the calm breeze, the rustling of the reeds, the sturdiness of the dirt path beneath my feet. I was so present in that moment. I felt such deep gratitude as I basked in the sun's rays and watched the wind sweep the wild grass in the fields. Nowadays, when life feels chaotic and overwhelming, I close my eyes, and give myself the gift of imagining my feet back on that path, the sun on my skin, and can exhale easier.
