Lacewings (Chrysopecula carnea) Chrysoperla carnea, also known as the red-lipped green lacewing, is an insect of the Chrysopidae family . The delicate lacewing adults feed on nectar, pollen and honeydew while their larvae are the active predators. The first three larvae instars, are the voracious ones. The larvae of the BioLacewing primarily target aphids (indiscriminate of species). Secondary targets include whiteflies, mealybugs, thrips, spider mites and other soft bodied pests. Use egg cards for small or early season infestations and larvae to combat a more severe infestation. The larvae can be cannibalistic and should be applied as early as possible. Lacewings are supplied as larvae, eggs or egg cats, which can be hung on infested plants. PRODUCT BioCarnea is available in egg card strips of 1,000 eggs that can be divided in two tabs of 500 eggs. A dotted line divides the card into 2 units of 500 eggs. BioCarnea larva (L3) is also available in a sectioned grid of 500 individuals. Each cell contains eggs of Ephestia kuehniella (lepidoptera) as maintenance food for their transfer. APPLICATION Packaging must be kept intact until placed in the field. The product should be released within 24 hours of receipt. The larvae can be cannibalistic, disperse on or near prey. Do not expose the bottles to direct sunlight. Suggested application: Cards 1,000 per 2,000 sq ft, Outdoors 5,000 to 50,000 per acre depending on pressure. Please note that the frequency and amount BioCarnia to be released is determined by the type of crop, environmental conditions, level of infestation and damage incurred by the pest. The specific quantity and insect state you order are specially reared at the insectary so as to handle your particular pest pressure and arrive viable and ready to get to work! STORAGE Keep in a cool location 50-57°C no longer than 24 hours until release; do not put bottles in a refrigerator.
