March 2026Sterling silver While it might not look like it, this pendant reads חי (chai, or "life") in Hebrew. This is a cursive form of Paleo-Hebrew found on administrative inscrip tions in the ancient city of Tel Lachish that date back to the late sixth and early seventh centuries BCE, right before the city fell to the Babylonians.
